This event provides the opportunity for a full day out with a visit to the Museum in the morning and a visit to Abercamlais after lunch. You can choose to just attend the afternoon if you prefer but please make clear on the booking form whether you are attending for the whole or half a day.
Meet in Brecon to visit the newly refurbished and expanded premises Y Gaer – the new cultural hub which combines the museum and library. Meet outside the museum at 10:30 and enjoy looking at the permanent exhibition of art, the changing exhibition and the galleries devoted to the social history of the county.
Abercamlais is a Grade 1 listed mansion set on the banks of the Usk between Brecon and Sennybridge. Look forward to a fascinating afternoon hearing about the history of the house and the people who lived there. We will have a guided tour of the house and gardens which will last approximately 2 hours. Tea and cake will be served during the afternoon.
