Event Information:

Mark your calendars and secure your tickets for a captivating day in Hay on April 20th. Towering over the town of books is the iconic Hay Castle, which dates back to the 11th or 12th Century and was reconstructed by the de Braose family in the 13th Century. Despite facing unfortunate incidents, such as serious fires in 1939 and 1977, the Hay Castle Trust has successfully restored the castle to its former glory.

As a special guest of our group, you will be treated to a private guided tour of the castle, offering a unique glimpse into its rich history and impressive restoration. While there, you can also visit the Life in Colour exhibition in the gallery, which celebrates the work of the artist in residence, Eugene Fisk. On the first floor, a mini exhibition dedicated to local printmakers and the results of a blacksmithing challenge await you.

Following the tour and lunch at the castle, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the charming bookshops and galleries in Hay. With any luck, the signs of spring will be in full bloom and you can peruse the shops before the influx of Festival goers. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable event – join us for a day in Hay that you’ll never forget.
